A larger than usual painting of a tattooed girl resting on a plinth took me 6 weeks to complete but working intermittently. Often I start with a plan as in this painting, to give her wings but changed my mind when I did the underpainting. Thought it looked a bit naff! Changed direction which I felt much happier with.
